“We're so lucky where we live, but we're so out of touch. Everyone's mind-set is made to feel that refugees are a problem, but it's more than that. They're human beings, too…..just like you and me. The only difference is they were forced to leave their homes.”
The Generation Global Team of Our Own High School Al-Warqa’a was kind enough to invite Winchester to LIVIORIGHTS which was held on Wednesday, 25th January 2017 at Our Own High School, Al Warqa’a. It was, indeed, a unique opportunity for the students of Grades 9 to 12 to voice their views, thoughts and feelings on the rights of refugees today. It was a truly memorable experience that might be instrumental in getting our young world citizens to seriously consider their place, their voice and their role in the world. LIVIORIGHTS is a one day Inter School Competition that has three separate events linked to one theme and the theme this year was “Refugees”.
The events included a Discussion Forum, Graffiti Competition and Film Making Competition.
We at Winchester are truly proud to announce that we have secured first place in both the Graffiti and Film Making Competition.
